New Look is selling a basic blouse in nine colours that shoppers love - saying it's suitable for everything from the office to a summer holiday and doesn't need to be ironed. The £19.99 Short Sleeve Pocket Front Shirt, in a lightweight woven fabric, has a collared neckline and double-pocket front.

It is available in camel, black, red, white, pale pink, green, olive, bright orange and bright blue - but you'll have to be quick, with some colours now nearly sold out online. The high street retailer suggests teaming it with wide-leg trousers and loafers for work, then swapping for mom jeans and trainers at the weekend.

And it seems shoppers agree, with the wardrobe basic having a near-perfect 4.7 out of 5 stars review on the New Look website. They have praised the price and fit and say it looks good for a number of different occasions.

Megan Ward said: "Love it. Perfect shape, great price, looks good with jeans, or skirt. Perfect fit." Heather RA said: "Great style blouse very flattering if you don't like tight fitting. Good choice of colours & good price" and Mrs Maxwell wrote: "I absolutely love these shirts, this is my 4th in different colours. The sizing is great and they're just so comfortable with the style of the fit."

Neo1 said: "Lovely basic blouse. Perfect for work. Light and cool. Loose but not oversized. 10 was perfect on me and I’m petite and around a size 8 usually." SH Berks added: "Comfy good casual shirt. Goes with a lot of colours and patterns. Washes well no need to iron. Great for packing for holiday." Meanwhile, Maisie said: A lovely short-sleeved shirt requires no ironing which is such a bonus

Judi E said: "Very happy with my shirt it’s versatile can be worn with jeans or shorts or dressed up with a skirt or jewellery." Gillian E said: "Easy to wear. Dress up and down. True to size. Not particularly long - came to about my waist/top of my jeans. Will be buying in other colours." DemiAnn said: "Great for both formal and informal wear. Can be worn daytime opened with a dress or events with a suit."

CoodenGirl was also impressed, saying: "Nice comfy casual shirt. Great colours….got the green and blue. Washes well and no ironing needed." Rhian from South Wales said: "This top is very comfortable and cool to wear in the warmer days. I have had quite a few compliments on this top saying how nice it looked on. It washes well and needs minimal ironing which is ideal in this modern world." And EmT added: "Smart, nice material - the kind you don't need to iron YES!"

Some customers, however, said the blouse was too short for them. Hhoop34 said: "Excellent non-iron type fabric. BUT. Why is it so short. I'm 5'7" and these just didn't work for me. Can you make these in a longer length please...!? And a version with longer rollable sleeves, in this non-iron fabric?" Cato said: "Lovely material, colour and style. Would have liked it to have been a bit longer at the back so it sits longer on the bum." And Kirstie73 commented: "Nice smart casual blouse but if you’re looking for a long shirt this isn’t the one for you."

Elsewhere on the high street, River Island has a utility cropped shirt with linen in stone for £35. Made from a linen blend, it has a cropped fit, short sleeves and a chest pocket. And for something a little more formal, M&S's "timeless" Pure Cotton Collared Shirt is £35. The retailer says the medium blue shirt is made from a soft cotton and is cut in a regular fit, with long buttoned sleeves.
